Martin has a delightful conversation with 8-year-old Connor McCrory, who is a prodigy picker. Having a passion for collecting and gaining knowledge at such an early age, the antique world is his oyster. We will keep an eye on him and talk again next year. Check out his Facebook page and website.

We need to get this kid on a antique reality show. He is smart and entertaining. We need to get our youth interested and antiques, and he could be the answer.
Think how many kids would watch, and what a difference it could make!
As someone who has been in the antique trade for over 20 years, I can confidently say that this little man knows more about antiques then most of us dealers do! He brings expertise and vibrancy to the field! He defiantly is a prodigy picker and should be running an auction house!
Incredible interview! I enjoyed the part about how he gets his foot in the door, so to speak. Someone should be following this kid around with a camera, if they are not already!
This interview was amazing. He is like “Little Man Tate” in the Jodi Foster movie! Both the kid and the host are remarkable together, someone needs to get the both of them on camera together!
What talent and so glad to hear a young person into this. It gives me hope.
A woman I talked to today told me her kids watch all the antique reality shows, and sit around having a contest to see who guesses closest to the prices things are worth. These stories keep me believing that antiques may make it through the generations after all!
Martin I really enjoyed the interview, what an amazing boy. I look forward to listening to more of your interviews… a real page turner! Would love to see Connor comr to some of these interviews as he comes into his own. Love it!
What a great interview, this kid has talent and I am sure a lot of people would love to listen to him talk about antiques. I agree with the comments above, get this kid on TV.
I’m the Australian Blythe collector mentioned and he has peaked my curiousity! I learned so much listening to this kid. Thanks Connor.
Martin, we need him at the Round Table next year, I’d love to see him and Harry Rinker go at it!! And I am also curious about the “fake” bakelite smell he mentioned, that is taking piracy to a whole new level. He loved speaking with you, Martin, can you imagine how isolated he must be at school amongst his peers? What a spirited kid, so lucky he has an interest and passion for something that he won’t have to grow out of. Great job engaging him and letting him share!!!!
I had the pleasure of speaking with Connor and his mom at the vintage flea market last week. Delightful people! This interview was wonderful! I learned sooooo much!
Connor gives us all hope for the next generation of collectors! He is a rare breed among his peers and will certainly go far in this world. David is correct: Connor is an inspiration. His knowledge is impressive. When you pair that with the fact he’s so bright and articulate, you’ve got the next reality TV show host! Wonderful job, Martin!
Keep this little trouble maker outa Wisconsin. That’s my territory and if he comes up here, I’ll NEVER be able to buy anything. great job on the podcast!
Wow!! I am so impressed by Connor’s knowledge. He is really unbelievable. I enjoyed listening to this great interview and I feel as though I leaned so much — I would LOVE to see this kid in action!!
We are so proud that Connor says Topanga Vintage Market (Topanga Canyon Flea Market sic) is one of this favorites. We have a lot of knowledgable and charming vendors, but he takes the cake!
BLEW MY MIND.
THIS BOY NEED HIS OWN T.V. SHOW ASAP.
You are right!

If someone does not get this kid in a television show soon, they are missing the boat. What fun he would be to watch in action!
Oh my gosh! Get these two their own TV show! I can’t believe how much I learned listening to an 8 year old.
Was that an adult posing as a child?
I agree with Claire above, I have been at it for years, and most dealers today know a fraction of what this little guy knows.
He is so cute! I think they need their own show, too! Wonderful!
I learned quite a bit from this little guy, very interesting. Great to hear from a sharp kid with a bright future.
This was the most entertaining kid that I have ever heard talk about antiques.
What a future this kid has.

Wow, that was a great podcast! Connor is a scream!
I would love to see him in action!

Connor! You Rock!
This kid has got it together…he is well on his way. This interview totally warmed my heart. Lucite purses! Bakelite…Rookwood…Eames…Stickley! Love it!
Connor is old beyond his years. He talks like he is a well seasoned antique dealer. Kinda hope he is not ever at an estate sale I am at.

I have listened to the last 25 or so shows, and this is by far the most entertaining!
